These Tiffany-style post cap lights are terrific. They're well-made and very easy to install. The light they create is quite subtle. I have one on a fence post and two others on the top of a decorative brick wall, outlining my property lines. The beautiful glass is colorful both by day and when illuminated by night. And, the best part is they collect a charge that's sufficient enough to remain ON all night long!

Adaptable to different post sizes and beautiful
I just received this and only ordered one to see if it would be suitable for the rest of the deck pole tops I want to cover. I am very satisfied and will be placing an order for the rest of them very soon.

Pretty cool !!!
Ordered one of these to put on the post at the end of our privacy fence. It worked from the very first day and stays softly lit up all night long. It was easy to install and I love the way it looks.

I want to use this as an indoor landing post cap, so it will light up the landing area. There are two doors with windows close by, within 3'. Would that provide enough light to recharge the batteries? If not, is there something else that might work?
These fixtures require direct sunlight, not daylight. I would not recommend solar fixtures for an enclosed area. Thank you for your inquiry!

do you know how this post cap stands up in a hail storm. we live in the St. Louis area.
The Wellington Solar Post Cap Light is weather resistant and designed to be outdoors. Normal size hail should not have a negative impact on the structural integrity of the post cap. Thank you for your inquiry!

Does the light shine only thru the glass, or does some of it shine down towards the deck?
The Wellington Solar Post Cap Light's LEDs are designed to emit ambient light outwards. They may shine enough to illuminate a short area downward, but they are not designed with downward facing LEDs. The Windsor for example, is designed in this fashion:

If there is a strong ambient light in the area, the Wellington Solar Post Cap Light will not illuminate. The sensor will not be able to determine when the change from Daylight to night time occurs. Thank you for your inquiry!

What are the overall dimensions of this post cap light? I have a 4x4 wood post, open on three sides. One side has a picket nailed into a standard "2x4" rail. Will this fit within this spacing? (see image attached)
The Wellington Solar Post Cap Light Tiffany Style dimensions are 6.25" x 6.25" at its widest point. However, it looks like the 4" x 4" post is flush with the rail. You would need a raised post to secure the light to, or it would sit loose on top. Thank you for your inquiry!
