Cold temperatures (below freezing) can impact the Yeti's battery capacity. If you'll be living off-grid in sub-zero conditions, we recommend keeping your Yeti 1400 Lithium in an insulated cooler, connected to a power source (solar panels), and charging your gear.

Having your Yeti 1400 Lithium connected to a power source, like a solar panel or wall outlet, between adventures or while in storage keeps its battery healthy and topped off. This prolongs battery life and will ensure your Yeti 1400 Lithium is charged and ready to go all day, every day.

If you can't keep the Yeti 1400 Lithium plugged into a power source during storage, fully-charge your Yeti 1400 Lithium every 10-12 months and store in a cool, dry place. Failure to maintain the Yeti 1400 Lithium by following these steps can result in battery damage which will void the product warranty.

Something for independent living during good and not so good times
Although it is taking me time to upgrade my tech understanding of how these things work, I think I have the resources available thru this company to survive this learning process. But with the actual set up basics so very easy for anyone to do, I find myself quite comforted regarding the ability to cope with any energy crisis right off the bat out of the box. The only problem for me as an older woman who will only add more years is the weight of the Yeti. I did manage 13 stairs to get the 1400 up to the second floor where the panels will charge, but the refrigerator is on the 1st floor ,,.... so this could be a big workout on a daily basis. I dream of the day a roller cart is available for the 1400. Anyways, a beautiful product with recreational use or basic survival.
ProsCan be operated safely and securely within the home, vehicle, campsite. Fits a mobile lifestyle. Great way to meet basic energy requirements for daily needs. Very simple to set up and use. Read out panel is helpful for planning/ managing energy usage on poor weather days.
ConsFor some women and the retired, the weight of the Yeti can become an issue in multistory homes where solar charging is done on upper floor/balcony and an important application is on first floor or basement.
Best UsesBasic activities of daily life. Relief of anxieties related to local grid failure and lack of other energy sources. Fun! No need to leave a beautiful campsite

What is the maximum distance from Yetii to unit ( e.g., frig) being powered by Yeti 1400? I.e., length of extension cord?
1 Answer
There is no maximum recommended distance regarding a standard extension cable. However, keep in mind the longer the cable, the more loss you will experience, resulting in shorter run times. Thank you for your inquiry!
