How many hours of sunlight does it take to fully charge? Does it charge on cloudy days?

The Maxsa Ultra Bright Flood Light should receive a minimum of 8-10 hours of direct sunlight to receive a full charge. The battery will still recharge on cloudy days, however the run time will be drastically shortened. Thank you for your inquiry!

How long is the cord from the light to the solar panel and can you request a longer one if necessary?

The included lead cable that connects the solar panels to the light fixture is 10 feet long. However, you can add our 15 foot extension cable for extra distance:

Would this be appropriate to light a sign that is approximately 3 feet tall by 5 feet wide?

The Maxsa Ultra Bright Flood Light on the full power setting would be bright enough to illuminate your application Please note, when set to full power, this fixture only features a 6 hour operation time. If you require a longer operation time, I recommend the 108 SMD LED Solar Flood Light:
